More than 350 Vietnamese citizens arrive home safely from Japan

VOV.VN - More than 350 Vietnamese citizens were safely brought home from Japan on a repatriation flight carried out by national flag Vietnam Airlines on September 30 in coordination with competent agencies of both countries.

The passengers on board were children under 18, the elderly, people with illnesses, pregnant women, workers whose contracts have expired, students without accommodation due to dormitory closure, and others in disadvantaged circumstances.

Head of their departure, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan sent staff to help the citizens with check-in procedures at the airport.
To slow potential spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), a score of epidemic prevention measures were taken during the journeys. Upon arrival at Da Nang International Airport in the central city of Da Nang, all the crew members and passengers were given medical checkups and put under quarantine in line with regulations regarding COVID-19 prevention and control.

Vietnamese authorities and relevant bodies based overseas are striving to arrange additional repatriation flights aimed at bringing home more Vietnamese citizens in the near future. Indeed, the schedule of future flights is likely to depend on both demand and the quarantine capacity at home.
