Over 250 Vietnamese citizens brought home on repatriation flight from RoK
VOV.VN - More than 250 Vietnamese citizens were flown home from the Republic of Korea on a flight of Vietjet Air on September 30 as a joint effort of competent authorities of both countries.
Passengers onboard the flight were minors under the age of 18, the elderly, pregnant women, and people suffering underlying health illnesses, students without accommodation due to the closure of their dormitories, stranded tourists, guest workers with expired labour contracts, and others facing a number of challenging circumstances
The Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK dispatched staff to the airport to help the citizens with pre-departure procedures.
Security, safety and hygiene measures were rigorously taken during the flight to prevent the potential spread of novel coronavirus.
Upon their arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Hanoi, all the crew members and passengers were given medical checkups and put under quarantine in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
In the time to come, more repatriation flights will be arranged to bring Vietnamese citizens home, depending on their demand and domestic quarantine capacity.
