A Bamboo Airways plane carrying the citizens touched down a runway at Can Tho International Airport in southern Vietnam September 28. Most of the passengers were minors under 18, people with underlying health issues, and other special cases.
The Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore sent officials to assist the citizens with necessary procedures before departure.
Bamboo Airways implemented epidemic prevention measures to prevent the possible spread of COVID-19 during the journey.
Upon arrival at Can Tho International Airport in the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, all members of the flight crew and passengers underwent heath checkups and were immediately put in quarantine in line with regulations on COVID-19 prevention and control.
Vietnamese authorities and overseas missions are arranging additional repatriation flights aimed at bringing home more Vietnamese citizens in the near future. The schedule of future flights is likely to depend on both the citizens’ demand and the quarantine capacity at home.
