Major drug trafficking ring busted in Binh Duong as 64kg of drugs seized
VOV.VN - The Drug Crime Investigation Police Department working alongside police forces in Binh Duong province have broken up a transnational drug trafficking ring from Cambodia to Vietnam, seizing more than 64kg of drugs of various kinds.
The police said that they had kept a close watch on Vo Van Quyen, the mastermind of the ring, involved in a drug trafficking ring in Ho Chi Minh City.
Quyen, who lives in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, moved to Binh Duong in January to continue operating illegal activities.
After weeks of surveillance, the police immediately raided Quyen’s two houses in Binh Hoa Ward and Vinh Phu Ward, finding more than 64 drugs of various kinds in the process.
At the police station, Quyen admitted that he had contacted an unknown man residing in Cambodia via the mobile app Telegram. He received the drugs from the neighbouring country and then transported them to Vietnam for sales.
The police are now conducting further investigations into the case.
