Police burst drug-trafficking ring from Laos
VOV.VN - The police of Vinh city in central Nghe An province said on December 16 they have just smashed a drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam, arresting two suspects.
According to the police, the two suspects, Thao A Cang, 42, and Thao A Thong, 32, were caught red handed transporting 10 kilograms of different kinds of drugs from Son La to Nghe An and southern provinces for distribution and consumption.
Both suspects live in Son La, a northern mountainous province of Vietnam that borders two Lao provinces of Huaphanh and Luang Prabang.
At the scene, the police seized seven kg of meth, two kg of ketamine, two heroin cakes, and 12,000 synthetic drugs.
The mastermind behind the group was identified as Cang, who had cooperated with Thong to contact with a Lao national to purchase the drugs and transport them into Vietnam.
A further investigation is currently underway.
