Drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam busted
VOV.VN - Police operating in Ho Chi Minh City said on January 7 that they have just smashed a major drug trafficking ring transporting illegal substances from Laos to Vietnam, arresting 26 suspects in the process.
According to details given by police forces, the drugs, weighing more than 290 kg, were hidden in tea and coffee bags and subsequently transported from Laos to the southern city for distribution and consumption.
Currently, further investigations into the case are now underway as police seek to arrest more related subjects.
This comes after officers in Vinh city in the central province of Nghe An also broke up a drug trafficking ring from Laos to Vietnam, arresting two suspects and seizing seven kg of meth, two kg of ketamine, two heroin cakes, and 12,000 synthetic drugs.
