Humid weather to soon return as cold front weakens

VOV.VN - The ongoing cold air will gradually retreat in the coming days, allowing Southeast winds to bring high humidity from the sea inland and make the weather damper in Northern Vietnam, according to the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

Meteorologists said the cold front affected the northern region on March 6 morning before spreading across the North-central and central regions during the day. It immediately sent temperatures falling to 12-15°C in the lowlands and 8°C in the highlands.

Temperatures also ranged between 14-17°C in the North-central region and between 16-19°C in the central region.

In the capital city of Hanoi, it was chilly in the morning and at night, with temperatures hovering between 13-15°C.

Due to the impact of the cold air from March 6 to 8, high humidity and damp weather that has caused discomfort for people’s daily life in the North for the past few days will temporarily end.

By around March 9-10, as the cold front weakens, light rain and drizzle are expected, and humid conditions may return, according to Dr. Hoang Phuc Lam, deputy director of the National Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

The phenomenon of humid weather typically occurs in early spring when temperatures rise but the air humidity remains high. This can cause discomfort, especially for those living in the northern and central regions of Vietnam, where high humidity is common during this time.
