Border guards bust large drug trafficking case from Laos into Vietnam
VOV.VN - The Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard on October 5 dismantled a major transnational drug trafficking ring, arresting two Lao nationals and seizing 500 kilograms of synthetic drugs.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. in the area of Dan Hoa Commune, the Provincial Border Guard Command in collaboration with the Cha Lo International Border Gate Station caught red handed the two Lao individuals transporting a massive quantity of drugs from Laos into Vietnam.
Seized at the scene were 500 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and various related exhibits. The entire covert operation was executed with absolute safety for personnel, weapons, and equipment, according to local authorities.
Following the arrest, the Provincial Border Guard Command promptly directed units to expand the investigation and pursue other suspects involved in the trafficking network.
The outcome of the case has dealt a serious blow to transnational drug trafficking activities, effectively preventing a large volume of narcotics from entering the country and helping to maintain security and peace in the Vietnam–Laos border region.
