Drug trafficking ringleader sentenced to death in Dong Nai
VOV.VN - The People’s Court of Dong Nai province on September 24 sentenced Hoang Minh Hai, a local resident, to death for leading a drug trafficking ring operating across several southern provinces and cities.

In addition to Hai, 12 other defendants involved in the ring received prison sentences ranging from 9 to 20 years.
According to the indictment, in early 2024, Hai, 36, connected with an unidentified individual living in Cambodia through the Telegram app and agreed to receive drugs smuggled into Vietnam for resale.
Hai rented a house in Ho Chi Minh City to store the drugs and recruited others to help package, hide, and distribute the drugs once received from Cambodia.
He also frequently supplied drugs, drug-use tools, and organised drug use at various locations, including his private residence.
In mid-November 2024, Hai and his associates were caught red-handed while dividing up nearly 2 kilograms of methamphetamine for sale. A subsequent search of Hai’s residence uncovered an additional 3.4 kilograms of drugs.
