33 Vietnamese tricked by job scams in Cambodia to be repatriated soon
VOV.VN - Vietnam will soon repatriate 33 citizens who have fallen victim to high-paying job scams in Cambodia, said Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokesperson Pham Thu Hang.

Speaking at a regular press briefing in Hanoi on October 16, Hang confirmed that Vietnamese authorities are working urgently to bring the 33 individuals back to Vietnam. These citizens were lured by false promises of high-paying, low-effort jobs in Cambodia, which turned out to be part of human trafficking scams.
Hang also stated that Vietnam’s diplomatic missions in Cambodia are cooperating with local authorities to verify the information regarding eight Vietnamese citizens who were arrested during a raid on an online fraud operation.
The Vietnamese authorities are taking necessary measures to provide consular protection and assistance, she said.
In response to the growing issue of scams and forced labour in Cambodia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is increasing cooperation with relevant countries and establishing both bilateral and multilateral frameworks to enhance the protection of citizens, combat organsed crime, and address high-tech crimes.
The Ministry also warned Vietnamese citizens to steer clear of overseas job offers that promise "easy work and high wages," to avoid falling victim to scams, exploitation, and illegal activities.
