45 Vietnamese citizens repatriated from Cambodia for illegal stay
VOV.VN - Border guard units in collaboration with the Tay Ninh Provincial Police have received 45 citizens deported by Cambodian authorities for illegal residence.

The July 16 repatriation was coordinated by the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia, local law enforcement, and border guards.
Most returnees are young adults, including 10 women, from provinces and cities across Vietnam, such as Ninh Binh, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Tay Ninh, Thai Nguyen, Lam Dong, Dong Nai, An Giang, Dak Lak, Tuyen Quang, Gia Lai, Ca Mau, and others.
Authorities identified several individuals with criminal backgrounds, including offences like fraud, gambling, drug possession, and theft. One person was on a travel ban list.
Investigations revealed that most were lured to Cambodia through online job advertisements promising well-paid jobs. Upon arrival, they were forced to work for online scam syndicates.
Their daily tasks included operating fraudulent social media apps such as love, shipping, e-commerce platforms, online betting and gambling, hotel booking, and stock trading.
Authorities urge job seekers to stay alert against crime and not trust job offers from unverified social media sites. Before accepting any job, especially those abroad, individuals should thoroughly research the location and the job, verify the identity and background of job agents or intermediaries, and contact official, licensed job placement centres for guidance.
