National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man on January 27 paid tribute to former Party and State leaders and visited former top officials ahead of the Lunar New Year and following the successful conclusion of the 14th National Party Congress.

The top legislator offered incense in remembrance of Bui Bang Doan, the first Standing Chairman of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, at the memorial site in Ung Thien commune, Hanoi. He also paid tribute to late General Secretary Truong Chinh and late National Assembly Chairman Le Quang Dao.
At the memorial site dedicated to Bui Bang Doan, the National Assembly Chairman expressed deep respect and gratitude for the great contributions of the prominent intellectual and exemplary representative of the people, whose life and career embodied patriotism, integrity and dedication to serving the Fatherland and the people.
He called on local authorities and the memorial site’s management board to continue preserving and upgrading the site, while further promoting its historical, cultural and educational values so that it becomes a meaningful venue for educating officials, Party members and younger generations about patriotism, integrity and public service responsibility.
He stressed that today’s generations of National Assembly deputies are determined to follow the example of Bui Bang Doan by constantly strengthening their political resolve, professional competence and public ethics, contributing to building a National Assembly that is increasingly democratic, law-governed, professional and modern.
On behalf of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the top legislator also offered incense in remembrance of late General Secretary Truong Chinh and late National Assembly Chairman Le Quang Dao, and expressed sincere gratitude to their families for the leaders’ great contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.
Earlier the same day, the National Assembly Chairman visited and extended Lunar New Year greetings to former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, thanking them for their continued attention and valuable contributions to the activities of the legislature.
He said the 14th National Party Congress and the 10th session of the 15th National Assembly had concluded successfully, marking important milestones in the country’s political life. Building on previous terms, the 15th National Assembly has continued to innovate its organisation and operations to improve quality and effectiveness, becoming more professional, strengthening democracy and the rule of law, and laying a solid foundation for Vietnam to enter a new era of development.
He added that the National Assembly would continue to professionalise and modernise its operations, renew legislative thinking towards a development-enabling and development-leading approach, focus on improving and synchronising institutions, promote strategic breakthroughs, and effectively implement the “Digital National Assembly” model.
Former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh and former National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan expressed their appreciation for the care and attention from the National Assembly leadership, welcomed the legislature’s comprehensive achievements in recent years, and voiced confidence that the National Assembly would continue to fulfill all tasks entrusted by the Party and the people.
