The Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Udon Thani preserves memories of the years when Ho Chi Minh lived and carried out revolutionary activities in Thailand between 1928 and 1929 under the alias Thau Chin.
The memorial complex was built on the original site where Ho Chi Minh once stayed and now covers an area of 11,200 square meters, including Ho Chi Minh’s house, a multi-purpose building, garden landscapes, and an expanded exhibition area.
Construction of the memorial began in 2003, with the Ho Chi Minh House inaugurated in 2006 and the multi-purpose building completed in 2011.
The site currently welcomes around 15,000 visitors annually, including many visitors from Vietnam, especially during celebrations marking Ho Chi Minh’s birthday.
Today, the memorial site is regarded not only as a well-known tourist destination in Thailand but also as a symbol of the Vietnamese community’s respect for the great president and the enduring friendship between Vietnam and Thailand.
