Mongolian President meets Vietnamese students

(VOV) - Mongolian President Tsakhia Elbegdorj has expressed his wish for more student exchanges between his country and Vietnam.

At a November 22 meeting with students of the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam (DAV) in Hanoi, President Elbegdorj praised the Vietnam-Mongolia traditional relationship which have grown in various fields such as agriculture, medicine, security, defence, trade and tourism.

Mongolia pursues a diplomatic policy of peace, multilateralism and non-alignment and it is keen to expand its ties with all countries in the world and cooperate with international organisations like NATO and the United Nations, the Mongolian leader said.

Mongolia encourages women’s involvement in the political system with the intention of improving their role in society, he noted.

He said he hopes Vietnam and Mongolia will further strengthen comprehensive cooperation in the time ahead.

The two countries are set to hold an intergovernmental meeting to devise cooperation measures and prepare for the 60th anniversary celebration of their diplomatic ties next year.
