VOV, ICRT ink cooperative agreement

VOV.VN - On June 7, President of the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Nguyen The Ky, and President of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT), Alfonso Noya Martinez, signed a cooperative agreement as part of the International Convention of Radio and Television in Varadero, Cuba from June 7-9.

At the event, both sides agreed to sign new cooperative agreements with new terms and contents, focusing on the exchange of programs on politics, economics, culture and society. Apart from the exchange of programs and reporter training, they will increase the exchange of high-level delegations and work together on producing new radio and television programs.

VOV President Nguyen The Ky affirmed that cooperation between VOV and ICRT has greatly contributed to effectively promoting the friendship and all-round cooperation between Vietnam and Cuba.

At present, VOV has eight radio channels broadcasting in 12 foreign languages, 17 television channels, two online newspapers, and a print newspaper. 

Mr Ky expressed hope that the two sides will maintain their regular exchanges to concretize the agreement’s provisions, contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Cuba, Nguyen Trung Thanh, said the people of both nations want to share their experiences and reinforce solidarity to adapt to the new conditions of each nation and the world.

The signing ceremony has presented new opportunities for both VOV and ICRT, he said adding that he will work with the Vietnamese Embassy to realize the contents of the agreement in an effective and practical manner.

VOV and ICRT have enjoyed their fine relationship over past decades and signed a cooperative agreement in 2013.
