It is anticipated that areas throughout the north, including Hanoi, will be forced to endure extended periods of rain which will begin from the evening of March 2.
In addition, temperatures are forecast to drop to between 19 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius, with mountainous areas likely to see temperatures plummet to below 18 degrees Celsius.
It is also expected that the cold spell will affect northern central and central regions, including both Thanh Hoa and Thua Thien-Hue provinces, both of which are predicted to face heavy rainfall on March 2.
This period of cold and wet weather is forecast to remain until March 6.
At present, both the south of the country and the Central Highlands are in the midst of their dry season. As a result, it is expected that conditions will likely remain sunny, with temperatures of up to 35 degrees Celsius.
