First Vietnamese named professor in Hungary

(VOV) - Hungarian President Áder János has decided to confer the professor title on Dr. Do Van Tien as of September 1.

Dr. Tien is the first Vietnam named professor in Hungary while conducting research and giving lectures on information and communications technology at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

In 2011 he was recognized as a scientific doctor by the Hungarian Academy.

Dr. Tien who was a former student of the Ngo Quyen high school in the northern port city of Haiphong, has successfully advised on four doctorate thesis, two of them written by Vietnamese students.

His laboratory has created useful application products for many telephone companies, including Magyar Telekom, T-Mobile Hungary, Nokia, and Siemens Networks.
