According to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control in its update the same day, eight more COVID-19 patients were released from hospital after making a full recovery, bringing the overall number of cured patients to 241.
Among the new recoveries, one was treated at the Traditional Medicine-Function Rehabilitation Hospital of the south-central province of Binh Thuan, and seven at the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases No 2 in Hanoi.
Among the total 288 active cases, 148 were imported and quarantined right after their arrival in the country.
Those patients will continue to undergo a compulsory 14-day isolation period for health observation in accordance with regulations set out the Ministry of Health.
Some 16,525 people are now under health monitoring or quarantine at hospitals, other quarantine facilities, at home or at places of residence.
