ILO Country Director welcomed in Hanoi

VOV.VN - Nguyen Van Binh, Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission, gave a reception in Hanoi on August 19 to Chang-Hee Lee, Country Director of the International Labour Organisation (ILO) Vietnam.

The Party official congratulated ILO on its 100th founding anniversary and praised its support for Vietnam in sustainable socio-economic development through building relevant laws. 
Binh suggested ILO continue helping Vietnam refine labour laws in line with international standards, building workforce amid digital era, developing labour market and providing new skills. 

He assured Vietnam’s readiness to join international conventions, including labour conventions in the process of global economic integration.

The ILO Country Director, in turn, told his guest that his organization continue assisting Vietnam in labour legislation, employment, social welfare while outlining strategies for dealing with climate change challenges, developing green jobs and improving socio-economic conditions to bring Vietnam out of middle-income trap.
