VietJet Air launches direct air route from Hanoi to Chengdu
VOV.VN - Vietnamese budget carrier VietJet Air on July 1 launched a new direct route connecting Hanoi (Vietnam) with Chengdu (China), aiming to boost summer travel demand and expand its growing network in the Chinese market.

The new route operates four times a week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, further strengthening VietJet's presence in China.
Flights from Hanoi depart at 9:10 p.m., and arrive in Chengdu at 12:15 a.m. the following day (local time). Return flights from Chengdu depart at 1:15 a.m. (local time), and land in Hanoi at 2:25 a.m. on the same day.
This route follows VietJet’s recent expansion connecting Ho Chi Minh City to major Chinese cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, and Xi’an, and Hanoi to Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou. The new Hanoi–Chengdu service is expected to further promote tourism, cultural exchange, and business cooperation between the two countries.
Chengdu, the capital of China’s Sichuan Province, is famous for its stunning natural landscapes, world-renowned pandas, and the Jiuzhaigou Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The city also offers a rich blend of history, culture, and Sichuan cuisine, making it a must-visit destination.
Meanwhile, Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, is celebrated for its centuries-old architecture, vibrant street food, and rich cultural heritage, offering travellers a unique glimpse into Vietnamese history and lifestyle.
The launch of the new flight service is also one of the positive signs indicating a strong recovery in international aviation, as domestic airlines continue to expand their presence in traditional markets such as China, the Republic of Korea, and Japan in anticipation of the peak travel season at the end of the year.
