US travel site ranks Hoi An among Asia’s top four destinations for 2026

VOV.VN - US-based travel website Travel Off Path has named Hoi An Ancient Town, now part of the central coastal city of Da Nang, among its top four destinations in Asia to visit in 2026, ranking third on the list.

Hoi An is described as a riverside retreat where time slows, lanterns glow and daily life unfolds at a gentler pace, the website wrote.

Split by canals of the Thu Bon River, Hoi An has been dubbed the “Venice of the East”. Instead of gondolas, however, visitors encounter wooden sampan boats guided by locals wearing traditional nón lá (palm-leaf conical hats).

The US site also recommends travellers sample steaming bowls of pho, a Vietnamese staple commonly found at night markets and small local eateries.

Hoi An is highlighted as one of Southeast Asia’s most picturesque urban landscapes, featuring traditional townhouses, French colonial-era buildings and narrow alleyways illuminated by strings of Chinese lanterns.

According to the website, the list is topped by Siem Reap in Cambodia, followed by Goa in India, Hoi An in Vietnam and Dubai.
