Seminar promotes Vietnamese market to RoK tourists

VOV.VN - More than 80 representatives of various travel firms and partners in the Republic of Korea (RoK) gathered at a seminar titled “Rediscover Vietnam” on June 9 as part of efforts to promote Vietnamese aviation and tourism services in the RoK.

The event was primarily aimed at introducing aviation, tourism, and resort products by Vietnam Airlines, Thien Minh Group, and Sun Group to the RoK’s outbound tourism market.

Addressing the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to the RoK Nguyen Vu Tung affirmed that Vietnam is a convenient, safe, and attractive destination for international tourists, noting the country has lifted all travel and entry restrictions for foreign visitors.

Korean tourists who travel to Vietnam for under 15 days do not require visas and will not be subject to quarantine requirements or COVID-19 tests, he announced.

The diplomat predicted that, alongside efforts to improve the overall quality of tourism services and the qualifications of tour guides, Vietnam is likely to welcome 4.3 million visitors from the RoK this year, just as it had done before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ryu Chang-ho, CEO of Hana Tour – the RoK's largest travel agency, stated that Vietnam is one of the most popular destinations for Korean visitors as it boasts incredible locations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Ha Long.

However, the country must focus on providing information relating to pandemic prevention measures through mass media and through tourist information sites in a bid to help travel companies develop fresh tours to Vietnam and elevate the country’s image as a safe destination among travelers.

He went on to reveal that along with the resumption of international air routes, Hana Tour plans to launch a series of attractive travel programmes to destinations such as Da Nang, Phu Quoc, and other tourist attractions in Vietnam this year.

Meanwhile, Jin Kyoung-wook, who is in charge of Mode Tour's aviation department, emphasised that as COVID-19 has been brought under control, the "Rediscover Vietnam" scheme will contribute to attracting a large number of Korean travel firms in the future following a two-year hiatus caused by the pandemic.

Although European tours have now been fully booked, tourism activities to Southeast Asian nations has yet to fully recover as before, despite enjoying advantages such as geographical distance and suitable tour prices, said Jiin, agreeing measures should be taken in order to elevate Vietnam as a safe tourism destination.
