New Airbus joins Bamboo Airways as airline ramps up for Tet travel demand
VOV.VN -Bamboo Airways’ Airbus A320, registration ER-0005, on December 13 landed at Noi Bai International Airport after finalizing its inaugural commercial flight.
The new aircraft strengthens Bamboo Airways’ capacity and marks a step in restoring its fleet size ahead of the Tet travel peak.
Truong Phuong Thanh, CEO of Bamboo Airways, said expanding the fleet provides a foundation for network growth, higher frequencies on existing routes, and overall operational efficiency improvements. With a reinforced fleet, Bamboo Airways is positioned to launch new routes and restore multiple domestic and international services previously operated.
The addition of aircraft is part of a long-term plan to return the fleet to 30 planes. In the medium term, the airline targets to add eight to ten aircraft per year, thus preparing for accelerated network expansion from 2026 to 2030.
In the short term, Bamboo Airways will increase flight capacity to meet the Tet 2026 (Lunar New Year Festival) travel peak. The airline plans a 16% capacity increase, focusing on higher frequencies on active routes and reopening popular services, including Ho Chi Minh City-Vinh (one flight per day), Ho Chi Minh City – Thanh Hoa (one flight per day), and Ho Chi Minh City- Hai Phong (two flights per day).
Alongside the capacity increase, Bamboo Airways is accelerating recruitment and training plans to support the expanded fleet.
