National Tourism Year 2025 elevates Hue's position on tourism map
VOV.VN - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Hue City co-hosted a conference on December 19 to review the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025, celebrating its achievements in promoting the city’s heritage and strengthening its national and international tourism profile.
Throughout the year, more than 170 tourism, cultural, and festival activities were organised nationwide. In Hue alone, a wide range of signature programmes such as Imperial Spring, Citadel in Radiance, Autumn in Hue, and Winter in Hue were staged across all four seasons, attracting large numbers of domestic and international visitors.
The most visible impact was the sharp rise in visitor numbers. In the first 11 months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed more than 19.1 million international tourists, hitting a record high. Hue itself is estimated to have received approximately 1.9 million international arrivals. Tourism revenue is estimated to have exceeded VND13 trillion.
Addressing the conference, Chairman of the Hue City People’s Committee Nguyen Khac Toan affirmed that the city would continue to innovate and develop tourism in a sustainable and professional manner, closely linked with preserving and promoting heritage values, strengthening regional cooperation, and expanding international integration.
With a proactive and responsible approach, Hue is determined to establish it as a key economic sector in line with the resolutions of the Politburo, the Government, and the Hue City Party Committee on tourism and service development, while prioritising the enhancement of product and service quality, the preservation of heritage values
At the conference, Hue officially handed over the flag for hosting the National Tourism Year 2026 to Gia Lai province.
Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung emphasised that the National Tourism Year – Hue 2025 generated a strong ripple effect, raising awareness of tourism’s role in socio-economic development and laying a solid foundation for Gia Lai to develop new tourism products with a distinctive Central Highlands identity.
Vietnam is expected to welcome more than 22 million international visitors and around 130 million domestic tourists in 2025, with total tourism revenue estimated at VND1 quadrillion.
