Khanh Hoa welcomes Nordwind flight from Moscow after nearly 5 years

VOV.VN - The Khanh Hoa provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony at Cam Ranh International Airport’s T2 terminal on September 29 to welcome the first Nordwind Airlines flight from Moscow, marking the resumption of the Russia-Nha Trang route after a nearly five‑year hiatus.

Nordwind flight RA73850 landed at 12:35 p.m., carrying Russian visitors to Cam Ranh. At the arrival hall, the first 20 passengers received flowers and souvenirs, while traditional dance and music performances created a festive atmosphere. Many travelers expressed excitement about returning to Khanh Hoa, a familiar destination known for its blue seas, white sands and golden sunshine.

The event restores an important international route while reaffirming Khanh Hoa’s goal of becoming a leading beach tourism hub in Southeast Asia.

Pham Minh Nhut, Chairman of the Nha Trang–Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, stated that the province, after merging with Ninh Thuan, has developed distinctive offerings combining islands, Cham culture and renewable energy landscapes, creating new opportunities to attract Russian tourists.

Over the past nine months of this year, southcentral Khanh Hoa province welcomed more than 14 million visitors, up 16.5% year-on-year and reaching nearly 90% of its annual plan, including 4.3 million international arrivals. Tourism revenue was estimated at more than US$56.5 billion, a 19% increase from last year, contributing to the province’s socio-economic growth.

Russia remains a key market for Khanh Hoa tourism. More than 30 weekly flights are currently bringing Russian package tour travelers to the province. Starting in October 2025, Nordwind Airlines plans to operate 18-22 flights per month, carrying about 6,800 passengers from eight major Russian cities, including Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Vladivostok, to Cam Ranh.
