Nordwind Airlines to resume direct Russia-Cam Ranh flights after five-year hiatus
VOV.VN - Russia’s Nordwind Airlines will resume direct flights from Russia to Cam Ranh International Airport in southcentral Khanh Hoa province in late September after a five-year suspension, Hoang Thi Phong Thu, Chairwoman of Pegas Misr Vietnam Travel Co., Ltd, said on September 25.

Pegas Misr Vietnam Travel will partner with Nordwind Airlines, a subsidiary of Russian tour operator Pegas Touristik, to operate charter flights bringing Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa for holidays. The first flight from Moscow to Cam Ranh, scheduled for September 29, is expected to carry about 380 passengers.
Starting in October, the company will collaborate with Nordwind Airlines to operate 18-22 flights per month from major Russian cities, including Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vladivostok, Ekaterinburg, Khabarovsk, Irkutsk, and Krasnoyarsk. These flights are projected to bring about 7,000 Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa monthly.
Visitors are expected to stay 10–12 days, with some extending to 28 days. They will stay in 4- to 5-star hotels and resorts and take part in tours exploring historical sites, scenic landscapes, islands, and local cuisine.
Since early 2025, the Russian tourist market has shown strong growth. According to the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province welcomed about 280,000 Russian visitors in the first eight months of the year, up about 295% compared to the same period last year.
Before Nordwind’s return, several Russian carriers, including Azur Air, Aeroflot, Ikar Airlines, IrAero Airlines, and Red Wings, along with Vietnam’s Vietjet Air had resumed flights to Cam Ranh. Currently, there are over 30 direct flights weekly from key Russian cities to Khanh Hoa.
