Aeroflot to increase Nha Trang flights amid tourist surge
VOV.VN - Russian airline Aeroflot has announced that it will launch a direct route from Irkutsk (Russia) to Cam Ranh (Vietnam) from September 5 with a frequency of 2 flights per week in response to a sharp rise in Russian tourist arrivals to Vietnam.

Russian airline plans to increase the flight frequency to three flights per week from October 6 and four per week from October 29.
Vietnam welcomed 315,138 Russian visitors in the first seven months of 2025, up 256% compared to the same period last year. In 2024, the number of Russian visitors to Vietnam was only 232,300. With this significant growth, Russia has now entered the list of Vietnam’s top 10 international tourism markets.
According to research by the Russian travel company Ostrovok, Vietnam is currently the second most booked Asian destination for Russian travelers in 2025, after Thailand. Among cities, Nha Trang ranks fourth in bookings, following Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket.
In June alone, Ostrovok recorded a 56% year-on-year rise in the number of Russian bookings to Vietnam.
The sharp increase is attributed to the resumption of direct flights, Vietnam’s favourable visa policies, and the country’s warm climate, particularly in the central region which serves as an attractive alternative to traditional winter destinations for Russian tourists.
Capitalizing on this momentum, travel agencies in Vietnam plan to expand regular air routes from Russian cities such as Moscow, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Blagoveshchensk during the 2025–2026 period. They are also expected to exploit more air routes from Kazan and Ufa to Vietnam.
