“Hanoi Tourism Days” launched in Japan to promote the capital as safe destination

VOV.VN - The Hanoi Department of Tourism, in collaboration with the Vietnam Exhibition House, has launched the "Hanoi Tourism Days" programme to promote Hanoi as a safe, friendly, high-quality, and appealing destination for international travelers.

The event is part of EXPO 2025 Osaka in the Kansai region of Japan, aiming to showcase the capital’s tourism potential to global visitors. It introduced foreign guests to Hanoi’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, history, and people, while promoting distinctive handicrafts and souvenirs from traditional craft villages such as Bat Trang ceramics, Van Phuc silk, folk paintings, and lacquerware.

The programme also offered interactive experiences, including sampling authentic Hanoi cuisine and learning to prepare traditional lotus tea. Visitors received detailed information on the city’s tourism services, products, and businesses, with particular focus on offerings tailored to the Japanese market.

Tran Trung Hieu, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, highlighted that over the years, Hanoi and various regions of Japan, including Osaka, have developed a strong partnership across multiple sectors, with tourism as a key area of cooperation.

“The programme is a valuable opportunity to promote Hanoi’s image as a city of peace and creativity to international visitors. It also strengthens tourism cooperation between Hanoi and Osaka in a sustainable way, paving the way for new travel routes connecting Hanoi with cities across Japan,” Hieu said.

He added, “This programme is not merely a promotional campaign but reflects Hanoi’s strategic and long-term vision to elevate tourism as a key economic sector.”

In 2024, Hanoi welcomed approximately 270,000 Japanese tourists, most attracted by the city’s cultural heritage, historical sites, traditional craft villages, diverse cuisine, and vibrant night-time tourism offerings.
