Hanoi tops domestic travel searches during National Day holiday
VOV.VN - Hanoi leads the list of most searched and booked domestic destinations for August 29 to September 3, 2025, surpassing popular coastal hotspots such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Phu Quoc.

Many hotels around Hoan Kiem Lake and the Old Quarter in the capital city have been already fully booked for the August 31–September 2 holiday, with only premium rooms left and rates up 20-40% compared to normal, according to online booking platforms.
Not only travelers from northern provinces but also visitors from Ho Chi Minh City and the south are choosing Hanoi for the break. Data from Booking.com shows the capital topping domestic search lists for August 29-September 3. Hotels are now bustling, with many guests reserving rooms and booking city tours well in advance.
Travel agencies attribute the high demand to large-scale events marking the 80th National Day, including military parades and rehearsals. A Hanoi-based tour operator said bookings have risen sharply compared to last year, with both international tourists, mainly from Europe, and overseas Vietnamese coming to join the celebrations.
To meet demand, travel firms and hotels have launched combo packages of flights and accommodation, or full tours to suburban destinations such as Ba Vi, Soc Son, and Tam Dao, helping ease pressure on city-centre lodgings.
Tour operators advise early booking to avoid sold-out rooms or sudden price increases, and suggest considering less crowded central areas or combining the trip with nearby getaways. Visitors are also encouraged to plan for extra travel time, as traffic in central Hanoi, especially around Hoan Kiem Lake, will be much heavier during the holiday.
