Hanoi named among Asia’s top spots for autumn foliage
VOV.VN - Hanoi has been recognized as one of the top seven places in Asia to admire stunning fall foliage, according to the UK’s Time Out magazine.

The magazine notes that while leaf peeping is a popular autumn pastime in the United States, the tradition of enjoying seasonal foliage is also deeply rooted in many Asian cultures, such as Japan’s momijigari.
Although Hanoi may not be as famous as Tokyo or Seoul, the city offers a uniquely beautiful autumn, particularly in its Old Quarter. As temperatures dip, the streets and colonial buildings of the Old Quarter glow with shades of red and gold, best appreciated on a leisurely stroll around Hoan Kiem Lake.
Hanoi’s mid-autumn festival further enhances the city’s seasonal charm, celebrating the end of the harvest with traditional music, lion dances, and mooncakes filled with lotus seeds, salted egg yolk, or mung beans. In the evening, lanterns of all shapes and sizes illuminate the streets, creating a magical atmosphere. October is considered the ideal month to experience Hanoi’s autumn.
Leading the list of Asia’s autumn foliage destinations is Japan’s Ibaraki Prefecture, followed by Nami Island in the Republic of Korea, Alishan National Scenic Area in Taiwan, Zhangjiajie National Forest Park in China, Kyoto in Japan, and Jiuzhaigou Valley National Park in China.
