Da Nang tops list of most searched destinations by US tourists
VOV.VN - Da Nang, a tourist city in central Vietnam, surpassed the likes of Tokyo of Japan and Bangkok of Thailand to become the most searched destination by American tourists in January, recording an annual rise of 1,538%, according to digital travel platform Agoda.
The travel platform reveals that Da Nang made it into the Top 5 most searched cities among North American travelers starting in July last year and has stayed in the Top 5 every month since.
Overall, Agoda notes that Vietnam is already the top destination for searches among Americans, climbingfrom the fourth most popular destination in 2023 to reach top place in 2024, even surpassing Japan.
The number of searches made by US tourists for accommodation in Vietnam increased by 174% compared to the same period from 2024.
“This aligns with Vietnam Government efforts to bring in 1.3 million American tourists and position the US among the top three markets for inbound tourism to Vietnam by 2028,” says Agoda.
In addition, Americans are currently the second largest source of tourists to Vietnam, just behind the Republic of Korea.
