Da Nang promotes tourism potential to Middle East market
VOV.VN - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang, in collaboration Dubai-based Emirates Airlines introduced the city’s tourism potential to the Middle East market at a virtual seminar on May 20.
More than 100 representatives from travel firms in the Middle East and member countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) attended the seminar.
Addressing the event, Truong Thi Hong Hanh, director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, emphasised Da Nang’s strategic focus on expanding international flight networks, stimulating tourism demand, and tapping into key markets including the Middle East, India, and Southeast Asia.
She noted that the city aims to attract luxury travelers by offering rich cultural experiences and well-developed resort services, while also launching various tourism promotion initiatives to support the sustainability of new international routes.
After Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang has been selected to launch Emirates Airlines’ direct service from June 2, with a frequency of four flights per week, to bring visitors from the Middle East and Europe to the central city.
With the recently signed Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Vietnam and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the new air route is considered a strategic move toward attracting high-end visitors from the Middle East and Europe and enhancing Da Nang’s profile on the international tourism map.
At present, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang has implemented numerous activities, including staff training, service orientation updates, and the development of cultural and religiously sensitive guidelines, particularly for Muslim tourists.
During the seminar, delegates were also introduced to Da Nang’s tourism highlights, particularly its strengths in resort tourism and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) offerings.
Meanwhile, International partners expressed strong interest in learning about Vietnam’s visa policies, entry procedures, and support systems designed for travelers from the Middle East.
