Da Nang aims to attract tourists from Kazakhstan, CIS countries

VOV.VN - Da Nang, an attractive tourist locality in central Vietnam, is looking to position itself as an appealing destination for tourists from Kazakhstan and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), said local authorities and travel operators at a workshop on May 14.

The "Anex Central Asia – Tropical Sense Workshop" attracted approximately 100 leading travel agents from Kazakhstan and CIS countries that discussed how to expand destination promotion and enhance the image of Vietnamese tourism, especially Da Nang, among travelers in Central Asia.

During the workshop, representatives of hotels, resorts, and travel businesses from Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Phu Quoc, and Da Nang introduced their products and services to international travel agencies, helping to boost brand recognition and optimise business performance for the 2025 tourism season and beyond.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Thi Hoai An, deputy director of the Da Nang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, highlighted Kazakhstan and CIS countries as promising new markets that Da Nang has actively been promoting in recent years.

She noted that with current direct flights between Da Nang and cities in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan it is projected Da Nang would welcome around 10,000 tourists from this region each month.

As part of the event, from now until May 23, travel agents from Kazakhstan and CIS countries will conduct field trips to tourism businesses and entertainment spots in Da Nang to gain more insights into tourism potential, develop suitable tour programs, and further promote the number of visitors from Kazakhstan and CIS countries to Da Nang and Vietnam as well.

A representative of Anex Vietnam said that this program supports the firm’s long-term strategy to develop Da Nang into an attractive destination for tourists from Kazakhstan and the CIS region.

It also serves as a crucial step toward relaunching charter flights from Russia to Da Nang in the summer of 2026, with a projected capacity of up to 13,000 visitors per month.

Earlier on April 10, Anex Vietnam welcomed a charter flight bringing a group of tourists from the Kazakhstan and CIS markets to Da Nang. The charter flight route from Kazakhstan and CIS to Da Nang is currently maintained and operated by Anex Vietnam with a frequency of 20 flights per month.

Da Nang is widely regarded as a safe, friendly, and attractive destination, known for its rich natural resources, famous beaches, fresh climate, and high-value cultural and historical sites. The city has also developed modern, synchronised tourism infrastructure, including luxury resorts and internationally rated tourist services.
