Cambodian visitors to Vietnam surge by 54% in seven months
VOV.VN - In the first seven months of 2025, Vietnam welcomed 12.2 million international arrivals, with visitors from Cambodia increasing by over 54%, placing Cambodia among the top 10 source markets, according to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism.

Statistics show Cambodia climbed to 6th place among Vietnam’s top 10 international source markets in the reviewed period, with 401,000 arrivals.
Cambodia was among the fastest growing Southeast Asian markets, second only to the Philippines, which recorded a remarkable growth rate of 99.1%. Other neighbouring markets such as Indonesia (12.2%), Malaysia (8.1%), and Thailand (7.1%) also posted positive growth during the same period.
The surge is attributed to geographic proximity, simplified entry procedures, and Vietnam’s diverse tourism offerings, ranging from beach resorts to medical tourism, shopping, cuisine, and cultural experiences.
In addition, the expansion of cross-border tour routes and bilateral tourism promotion efforts, especially via land border gates, plays a key role in boosting arrivals from Cambodia.
China continued to be Vietnam’s largest source of international tourists in the first seven months of 2025, with 3.1 million arrivals. It was followed by the Republic of Korea, Taiwan (China), the United States, and Japan.
Within Europe, Russia led the region with a remarkable 156.6% year-on-year increase, reaching 315,000 arrivals, and ranking ninth overall among international source markets.
According to the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism, visitor numbers from Europe in July grew by 38%, reflecting the success of recent tourism promotion campaigns in France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Germany.
In addition, Vietnam’s short-term visa waiver policy under Resolution No. 11/NQ-CP has helped boost arrivals from European markets such as Poland (up 44.8%) and Switzerland (up 15.8%).
Top searched destinations in Vietnam included Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Phu Quoc, and Nha Trang, thanks to their diverse tourism ecosystems, a wide range of accommodation options, and vibrant entertainment activities.
