Cam Ranh Airport named among World’s Cleanest Top 10
VOV.VN - Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa province has been ranked among the world’s cleanest airports for the first time, placing sixth in the “World’s Cleanest Airports 2026” category for facilities handling under 30 million passengers annually, according to Skytrax World Airport Awards.
This marks the only Vietnamese airport to make the global top 10 in this category, underscoring the country’s improving aviation service standards and growing international reputation.
According to Skytrax, Cam Ranh’s international terminal achieved four-star standards across most passenger touchpoints, showing clear improvement compared to previous assessments. Key strengths highlighted include modern infrastructure, well-maintained food and beverage areas, children’s play zones, designated smoking areas, and notably high standards of restroom cleanliness.
The airport’s bright, spacious architectural design and overall passenger experience were also praised, bringing it closer to five-star standards.
Serving as a major gateway to the popular coastal destination of Nha Trang, Cam Ranh International Airport plays a crucial role in attracting international visitors to central Vietnam. In 2025, the airport handled nearly 4.7 million international passengers. In just the first two months of 2026, the figure approached one million, marking an 18% year on year increase. The total number of international passengers is projected to exceed 5.2 million for the full year.
In the same Skytrax ranking, New Chitose Airport (Japan) secured top position, followed by Centrair International Airport (Japan) and Bahrain International Airport. Other listed airports in the same category were Osaka Itami Airport (Japan), Brisbane Airport and Adelaide Airport (Australia), Helsinki‑Vantaa Airport (Finland), Muscat Airport (Oman), and Houston Hobby Airport (USA)
The continued recognition from Skytrax highlights Cam Ranh’s rising position on the global aviation map, particularly in terms of service quality, cleanliness, and passenger experience.
Other Vietnamese airports also saw improvements in global rankings. Noi Bai International Airport rose eight places to 71st in the world’s top 100 airports, while Da Nang International Airport climbed to 75th and was also ranked among the top 10 regional airports worldwide.
