Additional flights bring more Russian tourists to Khanh Hoa

VOV.VN - Anex Vietnam Travel and Trading Company Limited are set to launch new flights to southcentral Khanh Hoa province, starting from June 15, with the aim of bringing Russian tourists from Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Blagoveshchensk to the locality.

Each city will offer two flights per week, further strengthening air connectivity between Russia and the southcentral Vietnamese province.

With the launch of the new flights, Anex Vietnam alone will operate 22 flights per week from Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to Khanh Hoa between June and September.

Along with Anex Vietnam, other travel companies such as Pegas Misr and Amega are also cooperating with airlines to transport more Russian tourists to the province.

In addition, the frequency of commercial flights between Sheremetyevo International Airport (Moscow) and Cam Ranh International Airport (Khanh Hoa) has increased from three to four flights per week.

Phan Dang Anh, deputy general director of Anex Vietnam Travel and Trading Company Limited, says the company plans to bring around 77,000 international tourists to Khanh Hoa from May through September, with peak travel expected in July and August.

"We are partnering with three to five-star hotels in Khanh Hoa to design high-quality package tours at competitive prices to attract more international visitors to Vietnam,” says Anh.

The expansion of international flights from Russia and CIS countries is one of the company's broader strategy to revitalise tourism in Khanh Hoa in particular and Vietnam in general, he notes.

Russian media reports indicate that the country’s outbound tourism market could grow by 5% to 8% this year, reaching an estimated 29 million trips. This growth is driven by rising demand for travel to Asia and the Middle East, especially destinations like Oman, Vietnam, and Cambodia.

The Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR) forecasts that the Vietnamese market will enter the top five new popular overseas destinations for Russian tourists. The resurgence in charter flights to Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) from various Russian cities has played a major role in this trend.

According to the Khanh Hoa Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province welcomed 80,642 Russian visitors in the first four months of the year, representing an increase of 146% against the same period last year.
