Russian tourist arrivals to Vietnam in first half match entire 2024 total
VOV.VN - Vietnam welcomed nearly 259,850 Russian visitors in the first half of 2025, equaling the total number recorded in all of 2024, which stood at 232,300.

With a year-on-year growth rate of 239.3%, Russia has become one of the 10 largest source markets for international arrivals to Vietnam.
In 2024, the highest monthly figure was recorded in December with 28,520 Russian visitors. By contrast, the monthly average in the first six months of 2025 reached 43,000. Experts forecast that Russian arrivals this year could double last year’s total.
The sharp increase is attributed to the resumption of direct flights, a favorable visa policy, and Vietnam’s warm climate, particularly in central provinces, which offers an alternative to traditional winter destinations favored by Russian tourists.
Capitalizing on this momentum, travel agencies in Vietnam plan to expand regular air routes from Russian cities such as Moscow, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Blagoveshchensk during the 2025–2026 period.
Post-COVID, Russian tourists have shown a growing preference for safe destinations with warm weather, reasonable costs, and all-inclusive packages. They tend to choose direct flights and tours lasting between seven and 12 days that offer relaxation and cultural experiences. In response, many major Russian travel firms are now promoting package tours to Vietnam.
According to Phan Dang Anh, deputy general director of Anex Vietnam, a company specializing in Russian inbound tourism, Vietnam is considered an ideal destination for Russian travelers thanks to its year-round warm weather, affordability, and family-friendly environment. He also noted that Vietnam’s presence is growing in Russia through tourism fairs and bilateral media cooperation.
