827 candidates for the 13th National Assembly election and nearly 6,000 for the People’s Council election at all level for the 2011-2016 term in Ho Chi Minh City will start campaigning as from May 3.

An exhibition featuring nearly 200 photos, documents and objects on late President Ho Chi Minh and National Assembly elections opened at the Ho Chi Minh Museum on 29 April.  

There are 827candidates for seats at the 13th National Assembly, said Minister of Home Affairs Tran Van Tuan at a press briefing in Hanoi on April 27.

Provinces and cities across the country are making active preparations for elections of the 13th National Assembly (NA) deputies and People’s Council deputies at all levels in the 2011-2016 tenure.

Preliminary statistics show that after the third consultation round, provinces and cities nationwide selected 832 out of 1,085 candidates for the official list of candidates to run for the 13th National Assembly.
