VOV.VN - A grand ceremony was held on July 18 in Hanoi to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the nation and Laos back in 1962 and the 45th year since the singing of the bilateral Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in 1977.
A sculpture and poster camp on Vietnam-Lao relations is underway at the headquarters of the Vietnam Cultural Centre in Laos, aiming to popularise the traditional cooperation, solidarity and mutual assistance between the two countries.
Cooperation in education is one of the symbols of the special relations between Vietnam and Laos, said Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong.
A delegation of Ho Chi Minh City led by Nguyen Van Nen, Secretary of the city’s Party Committee, paid courtesy visits to top leaders of Laos on May 26 during their working visit to the neighbouring country.
A story-telling competition on Vietnam-Laos friendship was launched in Hanoi on May 9, as part of a special communications campaign for the 60th founding anniversary of the nations’ diplomatic relations (September 5, 1962-2022).
The special Vietnam - Laos friendship has been growing unceasingly across the board in the recent past, including in trade, which has been developing in an increasingly substantive manner.

A ceremony was held in northern Thai Nguyen province on November 27 to mark the 45th National Day of Laos (December 2) and the 100th birth anniversary of the country’s late President Kaysone Phomvihane (December 13).
