Party General Secretary To Lam hosted a reception in Hanoi on June 26 for newly appointed Australian Ambassador Gillian Bird, during which he expressed his belief that the diplomat, with her extensive experience and deep understanding of the region, would make significant contributions to advancing the Vietnam–Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

The Australian Government will permit up to 1,000 Vietnamese workers to be employed in its agricultural sector at any given time, as part of the labour mobility programme between the two countries.

The visit to Vietnam from August 24-30 by President of the Australian Senate Sue Lines is of important significance, contributing to a deeper and more practical relationship between the two legislative bodies and making it a key pillar in the Vietnam-Australia comprehensive strategic partnership, said Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly's Committee for Foreign Affairs Le Thu Ha.
