Vietnam featured on cover of National Geographic Traveller UK
VOV.VN - Vietnam appears on the cover of the July–August 2025 issue of National Geographic Traveller (UK), one of the world’s most widely read and respected travel magazines. The issue highlights the country’s misty mountains, beaches, and imperial cities.
“Discover Southeast Asia’s rising star, from local beach culture to new food trends,” reads the editor’s introduction, with the word Vietnam featured in bold red on the cover.
The magazine devotes 20 out of its 180 pages to Vietnam, coinciding with the 50th anniversary of National Reunification Day. The feature is designed to help travelers explore the country’s wide-ranging experiences, from hill-tribe hikes in Mai Chau to cooking classes in Hue.
According to the magazine, Vietnam is finally receiving the attention it deserves, thanks to improved infrastructure, new tourism projects, and the arrival of the Michelin Guide, transforming it from a backpacker favourite into a destination of broad, international appeal.
Despite rising visitor numbers, the country’s lush interiors and renowned cuisine still draw only about half the tourists that neighbouring Thailand attracts annually.
“With the nation ripe for exploration, this month’s cover story zooms in on experiences that showcase Vietnam's endless variety,” National Geographic Traveller writes.
The Vietnam story opens on page 66 with a photo of Non Nuoc Cao Bang Geopark. Other highlights include Mui Ne, known for its golden beaches, colourful fishing village, and distinctive local cuisine, along with Ha Long Bay, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City, all featured in the issue.
