Vietnam launches Customs Data platform to drive digital transformation
VOV.VN - The Department of Customs officially launched the “Vietnam Customs Data” platform, on June 27, marking a significant step forward in reforming the way customs statistics are provided and utilised.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Finance Bui Van Khang noted that the launch of the platform is a timely and practical advancement, demonstrating the innovative spirit and strong commitment to digital transformation within finance and customs services. He praised the collaborative efforts among internal and external departments in successfully developing the application.
The platform plays a critical role in financial management and supports the Government in macroeconomic policymaking with comprehensive, timely, and accurate data. It also serves as a key foundation for building e-government, promoting a more transparent and favorable environment for business and investment in the context of increasing global economic integration.
The Deputy Financ Minister called for further enhancement of the system’s flexibility and the integration of Vietnam Customs Data with other digital platforms across the finance, customs, and related sectors. This integration, he said, is expected to improve data access for ministries, agencies, and local authorities, streamline administrative procedures, and reduce operational costs.
He also encouraged the proactive use of artificial intelligence in data management and processing to improve data quality and security. Proper governance of big data is essential to ensure both efficiency and safety in line with national goals.
According to Nguyen Van Tho, director of the Department of Customs, digital transformation is a strategic priority and a critical breakthrough for the customs sector. Following the launch, the application will be rolled out across the Ministry of Finance, government agencies, and relevant Party bodies, with feedback welcomed to further improve the platform.
The system will be continuously updated to align with macroeconomic management priorities and meet the growing workload of the customs sector amid a rapidly changing global economy.
