Vietnam’s rice export is likely to surpass the target set for this year, said Chairman of the Vietnam Food Association Nguyen Ngoc Nam.

Vietnam exported roughly 4.08 million tonnes of rice in the first seven months of 2022 to earn over US$1.99 billion, up 17.3% and 6%, respectively, against the same period last year, customs data shows.

Vietnam exported 1.14 million tonnes of rice worth US$715 million in the first quarter of 2022, up 24% in volume and 10.5% in value year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Vietnam’s farm exports posted positive growth in the first two months of this year and are hoped to maintain an upward trend in the coming time.
