VOV.VN - The first half of the year saw Vietnam record 25 commodities with export turnover of over US$1 billion each, making up 88.9% of the total, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Bien Dong Petroleum Operating Company (Biendong POC), a subsidiary of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PetroVietnam), has reported that its revenue in the first six months of 2021 exceeded the set plan by 4%.
The budget revenue increased significantly in the first five months of this year thanks to recovery from 2020 and some sectors seeing strong growth, such as banking, securities, real estate and automobile industries, according to the General Department of Taxation.
State budget revenues managed by tax agencies reached VND562.36 trillion (US$24.48 billion) in the first five months of 2021, equivalent to 50.4% of the yearly estimate and up 11.9% year-on-year.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has supported Ho Chi Minh City’s proposal to retain 23% of its budget revenues, up from the previous 18%, to create conditions for sustainable development.
The State budget revenue was estimated at VND543.4 trillion (over US$23.7 billion) in the first four months of 2021, equivalent to 40.5% of the estimate and up 7.3% from a year earlier, said the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).
The total retail sales and service revenue surged 10.02% year-on-year to VND1.695 quadrillion (over US$73.5 billion) in the first four months of 2021, according to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MoIT).
Last year was a stormy one for Vietnam’s businesses, but billionaires still were able to pocket billions of dollars.
Nearly VND246.449 trillion (over US$10.7 billion) in taxes was collected for the State budget in the first two months of 2021, equivalent to 22.1% of the estimate, according to the General Department of Taxation.
Revenues posted by e-commerce platforms for January were up 30% year-on-year despite there being fewer promotions than in previous years, figures from the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the platforms reveal.
