VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has proposed enhanced cooperation between Vietnam and the Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) to boost the country’s railway industry, covering technology transfer, training of highly skilled personnel, management practices, and operational solutions.

VOV.VN - The Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway project, one of Vietnam’s important rail routes connecting it with China, is set to break ground on December 19 this year, said Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at a government meeting in Hanoi on May 20 evening.

VinSpeed High-Speed Rail Investment and Development JSC on May 14 officially announced its registration to invest in Vietnam’s North–South high-speed railway project, with an estimated investment of VND1.562 quadrillion (or US$61.35 billion), excluding costs related to compensation, relocation support.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has signed an official dispatch requesting expedited construction of Lao Cai – Hanoi – Hai Phong railway.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh urged ministries, agencies, and localities to act with “greater speed and boldness” to carry out Vietnam’s railway projects at the second meeting of the Steering Committee for key national railway projects in Hanoi on April 26.

The Government on April 23 issued Resolution No. 106/NQ-CP that details the roadmap for implementing the North – South high-speed railway project, requesting all necessary conditions be completed to commence construction no later than December 31, 2026.

Vietnam Railways (VNR) is ramping up its services, including additional trips on the North-South route and to popular destinations in order to meet rising travel demand during the April 30 – May 1 public holidays.
