VOV.VN - The Ministry of National Defence held a ceremony on August 17 to hand over the President's Decision to Lieutenant Colonel Vu Thi Kim Oanh who will take on the UN’s ongoing peacekeeping missions in South Sudan.

Staff of the Level-2 Field Hospital No. 3 of Vietnam engaging in the United Nations’ peacekeeping mission in South Sudan and their peers from India’s Level-2 Field Hospital have held an online joint training course on medical capacity and COVID-19 prevention and control.

Head of the Vietnam’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations Ambassador Dang Dinh Quy, on behalf of the Vietnamese Government, has symbolically presented anti-COVID-19 medical supplies to the Government of South Sudan.

A transport aircraft C17 of the Royal Australian Air Force on April 24 safely landed at Hanoi-based Noi Bai international airport, carrying 32 out of the 63 staff members of Level-2 Field Hospital No.2 who had finished their tenure in South Sudan.

Deputy Minister of Defence, Sen. Lieut. Gen Nguyen Chi Vinh, has expressed a hope that Vietnam will continue to send peacekeeping forces to more areas and plant more Vietnamese flags on the world peacekeeping map.

Vietnam will continue to seek measures to enhance the efficiency of and expand the areas of engagement in UN peacekeeping operations, heard a conference held by the Ministry of National Defence in Hanoi on January 7 to review Vietnam’s involvement in the operations in the 2012-2020 period.
