VOV.VN - As members of several free trade agreements (FTAs), both Vietnam and New Zealand can seize upon opportunities to promote economic development and connect supply chains within FTAs to export goods to markets of partner countries, according industry insiders.

The New Zealand Embassy in Hanoi is working with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) to provide immediate financial support for 420 female workers from factories in Bac Giang and Bac Ninh which have been economically affected by the recent COVID-19 outbreak.

The upgrading of ties between New Zealand and Vietnam into a strategic partnership in July 2020 is an important milestone in the bilateral relationship, said Tredene Cherie Dobson, newly-accredited Ambassador of New Zealand to Vietnam.
