Hanoi has approved the development of a comprehensive plan to invest in the capital’s urban railway system, with the goal of constructing more than 600 kilometres of rail by 2045.
Hanoi's urban railway and bus systems transported more than 417 million passengers in the first three quarters of the year, equivalent to 96.4% of the set plan, and representing an increase of 56.8% compared to the same period last year.
The ninth train of the Hanoi urban railway line No.3 connecting Nhon and Hanoi Station has arrived at the depot in Hanoi, and the 10th, also the last, train is expected to reach Hai Phong port on September 14, the Hanoi Metropolitan Railway Management Board (MRB) said on September 11.
An automatic fare collection system for the Hanoi urban railway line No.3 (Nhon-Hanoi Station) has been delivered from France to Vietnam to prepare for the installation and commercial operation of the elevated section of the project.
Construction of a 4-km underground section of the Hanoi urban railway line No.3 (Nhon-Hanoi Station) will commence after May 1, with four underground stations from Station 9 in Kim Ma to Station 12 in Hanoi Station.
