Bac Ninh seeks investment cooperation opportunities with Huawei

VOV.VN - Bac NInh wants to seek and expand cooperation opportunities with Huawei, especially in high-tech, digital transformation, and electronic component manufacturing.

Vuong Quoc Tuan, chairman of the Bac Ninh provincial administration, was speaking during his recent fact-finding trip to Huawei’s Research and Development Center in Beijing, China.

During the visit, Tuan and other provincial officials toured the exhibition and explored Huawei's innovative solutions across various sectors, including education, manufacturing, healthcare, automotive, and digital energy.

He expressed his admiration for Huawei’s development, recognizing the company as a global technology leader with numerous groundbreaking inventions, particularly in advanced and high-tech fields.

He emphasized that Bac Ninh is strategically focused on attracting foreign investment based on quality, efficiency, technology, and environmental protection. The province prioritizes projects featuring advanced, environmentally friendly technologies while accelerating digital transformation to enhance services for businesses and residents.

To foster cooperation, Tuan said he hopes that Huawei will explore investment opportunities in the province, particularly in areas such as the development of Bac Ninh IT zone, high-tech product development, electronic component manufacturing, supporting industries, semiconductors, high-quality workforce training, and the creation of products that benefit both businesses and the local community.

The latest data from the General Statistics Office reveals that in 2024 Bac Ninh led Vietnam in foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction, with total registered capital reaching nearly US$5.12 billion, accounting for over 13% of the country's total.

Currently, Bac Ninh has 16 approved industrial parks planned for development by 2030, covering a total of 6,398 hectares. In addition, it has integrated five new industrial parks and adjusted the location of one park into its master plan for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision toward 2050.

Meanwhile, Huawei, China’s leading technology giant, operates in 170 countries and regions, focusing on ICT infrastructure, digital energy, cloud computing, and smart devices. It ranks fourth globally in R&D investment, holding over 140,000 licensed patents. In 2024, Huawei’s estimated revenue reached nearly US$120 billion.

During its business trip to China on February 20-21, the Bac Ninh delegation also met with other major Chinese tech firms, including Digital China, Inspur, China Telecom, and cybersecurity giant 360 Security Centre, as well as China’s National Data Administration.
