VOV.VN - Vietnam is viewed as boasting huge potential and advantages for developing cultural industries, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said while chairing the National Conference on developing Vietnam's cultural industries held on December 22 in Hanoi.

A national conference on the development of cultural industries, the first of its kind, will take place in Hanoi on December 24 in both in-person and online formats, which will be presided over by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha.

The People’s Committee of Hanoi's Hoan Kiem downtown district has exerted efforts and taken numerous measures to conserve, embellish, and promote the value of unique cultural, historical, and architectural heritage in Hanoi's Old Quarter, contributing to effectively developing tourism and cultural industry in the capital city.

Many of Hanoi’s historical factories are being moved outside the city and experts are united in their calls for these locations to be set up as creative spaces, particularly as Hanoi is working towards joining UNESCO's creative cities network.

The National Strategy on the Development of Vietnamese Cultural Industries is a huge effort of the country in realising UNESCO’s Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions (Convention 2005).
